ACS signs new read and publish agreement with University of Puerto Rico - Río Piedras

ACS firma un nuevo acuerdo de lectura y publicación (read and publish) con el recinto Río Piedras de la Universidad de Puerto Rico
ACS se complace en anunciar la firma del nuevo acuerdo de lectura y publicación (read and publish) con el recinto de Río Piedras de la Universidad de Puerto Rico. Este acuerdo, el cual estará vigente hasta diciembre de 2025, proporciona acceso completo a la lectura de todas las revistas de ACS, así como la publicación en acceso abierto para los investigadores afiliados.
“En el recinto de Río Piedras, de la Universidad de Puerto Rico, nos complace iniciar un acuerdo transformativo con la American Chemical Society”, comentó la Dra. Nancy Abreu-Baez, directora del Sistema de Bibliotecas de la UPR Río Piedras. “Como institución de alta investigación, es crucial para nosotros que nuestros estudiantes, profesores e investigadores, tengan acceso a fuentes de información de la más alta calidad y estén equipados con las herramientas esenciales para difundir y promover el conocimiento derivado de sus esfuerzos de investigación”.
Estoy muy contento de que finalmente se haya logrado firmar este acuerdo transformativo con la Universidad de Puerto Rico de Río Piedras ya que esto permitirá maximizar el impacto de los trabajos tanto en alcance de lectores como de citas potenciales y lo más importante es que la UPR, Río Piedra, mediante este acuerdo, podrá ofrecer a sus investigadores la publicación de sus artículos en acceso en acceso abierto, en cualquiera de las revistas de la American Chemical Society, ya sean híbridas o exclusiva de acceso abierto, sin tener que pagar los costos de publicación (APCs)”, comentó Franklin Moreno, Gerente de Mercadeo, Comercialización y Desarrollo para Latino América, de ACS Publications.

ACS signs new read and publish agreement with University of Puerto Rico – Río Piedras
ACS are pleased to announce the commencement of a read and publish agreement with the University of Puerto Rico – Río Piedras Campus. The agreement, which runs through December 2025, provides complete reading access to ACS journals as well as open access publishing for affiliated researchers.
“At the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus, we are pleased to initiate a transformative agreement with the American Chemical Society”, said Dr. Nancy Abreu-Baez, UPR Rio Piedras Library System Director. “As a high-research institution, it is crucial for our students, professors, and researchers to have access to premier information sources and be equipped with the essential tools for disseminating and advancing knowledge derived from their research endeavors.”
“I am very happy that finally, we have been able to sign this transformative agreement with the University of Puerto Rico of Río Piedras,” added Franklin Moreno, Latin America Market & Business Development Manager, ACS Publications. “This will help them to maximize the impact of the authors from this institutions, both, in terms of reach of readers and potential citations and the most important of this, is that UPR, Río Piedra, through this agreement, will be able to offer its researcher, the publication of their articles in Open Access, in any journals of the American Chemical Society, whether hybrid or exclusively open access, without having to pay the costs of the article processing charge (APCs).”
